Milestone procedure

We are Milestoners and as regards priority tender boarding we have always been escorted to the tender. Many times from the staffer who had an elevator blocked for that purpose, several times by someone from the Pursers desk and once by Stu the Cruise Director on the Spirit. It works and we love it!

I read all the way through this thread and got to the end and asked myself.." why am I reading this? I will never be milestone"...oh well had some time to kill....lol

It would be nice to do that many cruises...congrats to all the milestone (and above) cruisers

This is something else that I predict that Carnival will make a mess of if they are not careful.

Folks grandfathered in won't be an issue...but those who are "close" (I fear) will be chaos!!

I agree, it will be a mess. Years ago, they changed the perk programs in Las Vegas for the same reason Carnival needs to change theirs.

There are loop holes in the program that suddenly caused everyone in the casino loyalty program to have access to perks.

That lead to not enough limos to pick people up at the airport among other things (Just like, leaving VIP checkin to check in at the regular checkin because the line is shorter.)

The entire "grandfathered in" question occurred there as well. The originally had three different levels, that they changed to four levels and renamed all the levels something else. (You cannot take away "Platinum" or "Milestone" when the new program is now four levels named: Goldfish, Flounder, Dolphin and Whales)

When they mixed up all the perks and distribute them differently throughout the four levels, there is no "grandfathering in". It becomes days at sea, and days are counted and fit into the new levels. The new levels will not be recognizable, just like they did in Vegas years ago.

I am sure there will be plenty of "outrage and threats" when the program comes out. Since a good portion of our cruises are 8-16 days, we welcome the change. It always bothered me that I got "one cruise" for a 4 day, and "one cruise" for a 16 day. Days at sea will definitely help that problem.

As for the cards and private info - everything from your store coupon card to your library card now is encoded with personal use info. Like it or not, personal privacy is a historical concept, I'm afraid.

This is so disappointing to hear especially coming from someone I know is an experienced cruiser. As much as I love CCL, the recent decline in service, quality, perks, recognition, etc. is really making me want to try another line. NCL or Celebrity. The only problem is that those two lines do not cruise the Caribbean during summer months which is when I like to go.............oh well. I'll just keep cruising with CCL and try and have a totally positive attitude about everything. I'm 3 cruises from Milestone; but with the new loyalty program, looks like I'm going to be more like 8 away from milestone :(

Nothing recent about it. The past guest perks at any level have always sucked. One reason why I DO sail other lines. I really couldn't care less about the perks they currently offer. Not a factor when I consider who to sail with.
