cole Posted March 22, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Orly is a much smaller airport and easier to navigate. I believe cab fare from either airport is about the same. I am sure that you could also get the Shuttle to your hotel if you were willing to share with other travelers. Hopefully, others will enter into the conversation and maybe provide you with additional information. B. Cole
SarniaLo Posted March 22, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 22, 2012 Orly is closer to Paris, but it depends on where in Paris you are going, cab fare might be a bit lower than CDG. And indeed Orly is smaller and more "user-friendly". As far as public transport is concerned: From Orly there is a direct bus to Paris (search "Orlybus") but by train you need to change train (OrlyVal - automatic train - to Antony and then RER B - regional train - to Paris). About 30 to 45 minutes depending on traffic (for the bus) and where you are going in Paris. From CDG there are plenty of direct buses (RoissyBus or 4 different "Air France" lines, which you can take even if you are not on an Air France flight), and direct train to Paris (RER B). About 1h. iancal Posted March 22, 2012 #4 Share Posted March 22, 2012 We have never used Orly. But we have used public transportation for CDG. We have used RER and the Roissy bus (both to Montparnasse and from Neuilly). Our preference was for the RER but our destination in Paris was determined which we took. Both options worked well for us and there was no difficulty in finding the pickup locations or route maps. We are fairly light travellers-one small roller each plus one carryone between us. We are used public transportation options when travelling.
