jdvmd Posted March 28, 2012 #2 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Is Spiegel Tent - Cirque Dreams & Dinner worth eating at and going to ? What is on the dinner menu, cant seem to find that anywhere. :) I think it is worth seeing at least once. We took our son when he was 12. You would pay a lot more in Vegas. I thought the food and service were very good. I have a seafood and shellfish allergy and the server went out of her way to make sure that there wouldn't be any cross contamination. Here is a menu that single cruiser has posted previously. There is also a vegetarian dish (pasta). http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2528/...4f407d2f_b.jpg IMG_0472 by single_cruiser, on Flickr
NJLVW Posted March 28, 2012 #3 Share Posted March 28, 2012 Do you know what the difference is between the standard & premium seats? Where they are located and which is the best for seeing the performance? Also, do you have to book this ahead of time or can you wait until you are on the ship? Thanx

Where they are located and which is the best for seeing the performance? Also, do you have to book this ahead of time or can you wait until you are on the ship? Thanx When we booked, we went with the cheap seats and thought it was fine. We were in a booth along the wall. There were three of us and another couple was seated with us. We did book ahead of time and I think that was to our advantage. Also, went with the first show. We didn't have any of that "long line waiting etc." that others have experienced. I think the biggest mistake is waiting to do reservations when you get to the ship. The availability will be different. Of course, there are those that say, "it's Freestyle. I don't want to make any reservations ahead of time." Just do what suits you. You can prebook 45 days out.
Single Cruiser Posted March 28, 2012 #5 Share Posted March 28, 2012 In my opinion the cheaper balcony seats had best view as long as you don't mind eating at a counter type arrangement. If you want to get involved with the act then Premium towards the centre and you will have a good chance at being "picked" :-). The portions tend to be more European than American. But there is always the buffet after!! Lol

I will add that I don't generally like Cirque shows, but thought this was spectacular. The food was excellent as well - simple tenderloin and shrimp for the main course and three sample-tasting-type plates for apps and dessert. slotaddict Posted March 28, 2012 #7 Share Posted March 28, 2012 I hated the seats on the back wall, I was in the last one, there happened to a pole to my right just slightly, the servers tended to stand there, not to mention everyone was walking in front of me...now the party I was with to the right had no trouble seeing at all....I didn;t think the food was great either...but I think its something that people should experience at least once.... Drag0nflygirl Posted March 28, 2012 #9 Share Posted March 28, 2012 That's what was served last week. It was like decent wedding food. You're not there for the food though.

Thank you. Do you remember if you had a reserved seat or is it on a first come basis. Like do you have to stand in a line to get a better seat? I will definatley book 45 days out and sounds like the early show would be best. Menu looks great. Do you know if concierge will take you to an assigned seat the way they do for the shows or is it different on the Epic??

Do you know if concierge will take you to an assigned seat the way they do for the shows or is it different on the Epic?? If you have a reservation and are in a suite, the concierge will have you meet them in the concierge lounge 50 minutes before each reserved show. They will escort you (and all suite pax who have reservations) discretely inside before the doors open where you will have your choice of seats. Be aware, though, that you might not have your choice if you choose "standard" seating. We reserved standard to ensure balcony seating and they changed the designations between our booking and our cruise. The concierge worked hard to change us to "premium" for the sold out show, as she said the "standard" would only get us the back wall booths (I needed the balcony for neck injury where I can't look up). When she led us in, though, it seemed we could sit anywhere - but this was after they checked us in with our cards, so they must have known we held premium reservations. The Epic does a great job with this perk! Robin Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I suppose once we are in the room we will have enough time to decide which seats we want. Norma
david_sobe Posted March 29, 2012 #15 Share Posted March 29, 2012 The show is fantastic. The show is so so close and in your face. If the show was on a stage, it would still be great. But the performers fly over your head and if feels as if you were a king and the jugglers and performers are performing just for you. Interesting concept NCL came up with for this show. I think they were trying to be creative with having dinner together with a show. I dont think the two mix very well. I would prefer just to watch the show. The food is ok but you are not going for the food. I cant think of any other cruise line that offers dinner with a show like this
