Best local cuisine

I like to stay away from the tourist traps and 'chain' resturants and get a real feel of the local way of food, life and culture. Where is the best place you have eaten here and what did you eat? Bonus points for pics!!!!

Best to head into San Miguel then go east away from the water and find the little loncherias and comidas around that part of town. Look for the small stands in the El Mercado on Rosada Salas between Avenida 20 and 25. Or Tonitas, on Avenida 15. They make a different special each day. On Avenida 25 a couple of blocks south Rosada Salas is Cocina Los Flamitas, some great Yucatan food.

My favorite seafood place is all the back on Avenida 50 Biz. Pescadaro San Carlos. Basically a fish market that also serves food.

Near the plaza, on Avenida 5 between Salas and Calle 3 Sur is Sabores, a nice home that serves lunch 6 days a week in their garden patio.
