mapleleaves Posted April 1, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2012 You might find information in these 2 sites ... Alaska Fish&Game or Alaska Outdoor Journal. http://www.adfg.alaska.gov/index.cfm?adfg=fishingSportFishingInfo.main http://alaskaoutdoorjournal.com/ Also, google the town web sites ... town name plus 'visitor information' or 'chamber of commerce'. Do you have a car and could pull over anywhere between Anchorage and Denali ?
JSA-MN Posted April 2, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 2, 2012 I wanted to do some freshwater fisihing while in Ketchikan, my DW wanted to do a flightseeing tour. I found one that does both, a 1 hour flightseeing and then lands on a lake for 1 hour of fly or spincast fishing. We don't go until mid July, so I can't tell you how it was yet, but I booked it through Shoretrips.com. A couple of years ago I went stream fishing in Talkeetna, which is fairly close to Denali. I used Fishbone Charters. Took my Mother-in-law and father-in-law, it was great!

dolittle Posted April 3, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2012 Right in the middle of Ketchican there is a metal bridge with a stream for the price of a one day fishing lic.(10 dollars in 2001) I caught 35 salmon (Pinks) in Sept .I had a pack rod (five piece) and the lic. guy sold me some lures that worked great. PennyAgain Posted April 3, 2012 #6 Share Posted April 3, 2012 I wonder how good is freshwater fishing around Ketchikan though? Its an island after all. Ketchikan is not an island. It has a lot of fresh water from snow run off and plenty of rain.
