Allure Finally Booked! Phew...

Recommended Posts

After months of trying to pin down the best date and ship for a summer sailing in 2013, DW and I agreed on Allure on August 18th!

First cruise on RCCL, and looking forward to giving them a try. And oh yes, looking forward to the Allure as well! :D

Hope to see some of you on board!!!

Goes faster than you think!! We are frequent RCL cruisers and we sailed Oasis with a cousin and her DH who were complete newbies , only having sailed DCL with us once 10 years ago. Honestly, they were a teeeny bit overwhelmed and they relied on me for figuring out what to do and where to be;) Luckily, we were 2 couple no kids and know each other really well, she's like a little sister, so I had a great idea about what they'd want to do (ok, lets face facts, Im the oldest and I've always been the one that plans everything for her and my sibs, so it's just what we do anyway:p)

It might help to read a lot of reviews and get a good idea about what you'd like to do, since there is so much offered, that its quite possible to spend most of the cruise just trying to figure out what you want to do and then finding some of it might be booked out already. I found reading reviews and having a pretty solid idea of what I wanted to prioritize really helped (ie. see shows but not parades, or spend time in the Solarium, but not the casino)

Also...have you looked on Roll Calls Royal Caribbean Allure to see if your Aug 2013 date has a roll call yet?..I found the roll call really helpful!

42 days and counting. Sorry, not trying to rub it in....ha!

congratulations on your booking

We won't consider it a rub if you promise to post a review when you get back next month:D

I am definitely a planner, so there will be plenty to keep myself occupied throughout the next 503 days!! I think just getting to know what all there is to do will take a good chuck of time!

I have been semi-addicted to all the reviews (yours on the Oasis was by far one of the best I read! Thinking about re-creating your 5-minute boardwalk webcam wave :p)

my bad, 41 days not 42.............ha!

I will try to post an Allure Eastern Caribbean review upon our return. My wife and I have a balcony cabin on deck 11, starboard side, in the 11700's (don't want to give specific cabin yet). Our cabin should have the bed closest to the balcony(what I wanted). The cabins alternate the location of the beds. Either next to the closet or balcony. We will be taking many pictures and will post some of them. We have pre-booked our shows, my time dining, and specialty restaurant-Sambas. We have been to all 3 ports before. We have an excursion on St. Thomas that will give us an island tour, and time at Magen's Bay for a few hours to swim. In St. Maarten, we plan on taking cabs to Marigot, then to Orient Beach for a few hours. Click on the link below(home page) for a very detailed description and photos of a cruise critic members recent Allure cruise. It is awesome! Take care

Tom

Thanks for that! Im a review addict myself:o It is a great way to "live and learn " from other peoples experiences though!

The web cam thing is fun for people at home; if they savvy enough they (that means...like under 16) they can post the screen shot on FB and if you are doing onboard internet you will be ale to see it while on the cruise!

Happy planning!

This is a couple years old now and is of the Oasis, but it is very similar to Allure. I did the picture review right after I got home. Feel free to brouse through it for anything that could help you. :)

Thanks, very nice pictures! I have it bookmarked now as I'm sure I will be referencing it a lot.

Though I am worried that I may have to put a separate luggage tag on the binder full of ship and port information I'm sure to create over the next year! :D It may rival the congressional budget or health care legislation in terms of length!
