Transferring booking from Princess to TA

Well I did it today. After reading a number of posts here I called the local long term and well respected TA to arrange a transfer from Princess for our Med Cruise in August that I booked directly with Princess. There are still 2 months before final payment is due. I asked him simply what was in it for him and what was in it for me. "Commission for him" and "OBC and a bottle of wine for me" Plus having a local contact for any other detail regarding the trip. Sounds good to me. I always like helping local business.

 

Credit this forum and the advice of those here that are much more experienced than myself for giving me the idea to do this, otherwise I would have never even thought this was possible, much less desirable.

 

BTW do I make that final payment directly to Princess or to the TA?

You make final payment to the TA.

FYI, now that you have a TA, if you call Princess, they will refer you to the TA unless it's a very general question.
