No Updates of Meet & Mingles for 4 Weeks

Recommended Posts

RCI has not updated the List of Scheduled Meet & Mingle Parties with the final date, time and location of the Party for four weeks.

RCI is supposed to update the list with the final inforamtion four weeks before sailing.

As of today, only one (set for April 6) of the many sailings with scheduled Meet & Mingles within the next four weeks has been updated with the date, time and location information.

I've made repeated requests to RCI and they fail to reply.

Does anyone know what's happening????

Would also like to know this as well.......we are anxious (yes, even though I knows it "subject to change") over on our Roll Call as to when and where our Meet and Mingle is going to be.

Hi, We have always had an invite waiting in our stateroom on arrival, informing us where and when the M&M is taking place.

Hope this helps :)

Don't Panic! They will have something in your room. I would suggest that you also organize your own events. Our recent Enchantment cruise was really well done, and we just all met in the Viking Crown lounge after the muster drill. I think the official M&M was later in the cruise, but, by then we were already having fun with our friends from CC.

Thanks for your reply but it's of little help.

I'm aware that RCI delivers invitations to the staterooms in addition to posting the date, time, and location of the party on the website.

But, that doesn't explain why they have stopped posting the update info on the website when it still states it will be posted "about 4 weeks prior to sailing".

The prior posting of the party's schedule allows the cruiser to plan other activities (e.g. massages, breakfast en suite or with friends, sleep-in day, card game, etc.)

"Que Sera Sera" type person ? NOT !!

We have a "Pre" Meet and Mingle set for in the Schooner Bar at 3 pm on embarkation day :)

My other two RCI cruises, we didnt have enough for an "official" Meet and Mingle so I am kinda interested in how its going to go down. Hopefully ours will be a good one. We have about 50 people signed up for it.

I've already put together a "Sail Away" Party after muster but only half of the Roll Call members are signed up.

I'm still old fashioned. When a company says they are going to do something and don't deliver, I get ticked off, especially when I'm paying thousands of dollars. It's even worse when I ask why six times in three weeks with NO reply.

I agree with you, but, it's been that way for a long time. We have never had the official list published before the cruise. Maybe we're just unlucky? Anyway, in the end it does seem to work itself out.

Far be it for me to disagree with a fellow Illinoisan and cigar lover (I had to give them up) but your comment in not factually correct base upon my personal daily reviews.

One month ago, every sailing with a listed Meet & Mingle had been updated to include the scheduled date, time and location of the party.

Then, four weeks ago, RCI ceased updating the list and the last updated entry for Radience's April 5 sailing shows the Meet & Mingle for April 6. That entry was posted about March 8 (4 weeks ago) and no updates have been posted since.

I posted this thread to find out WHY, not to debate whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.

PLEASE Post an answer if you know why RCI:

1. Ceased keeping their promise to update the list to include the date, time and location of the party 4 weeks ago OR

2. Refuses to reply to inquiries regarding the cessation of party upates.

Thanks for your help.

John

PS

Six years ago, I decided to stop booking cruises on RCI after a bad experience when an on board CRown & Anchor Rep gave me a brochure and told me he did not have time to meet with me about the program becasue he was too busy with other guests. I then proceeded to book 16 cruises with NCL, spending almost 200 K in cruises, on board expenditures, and excursions over the next 6 years.

I recently gave RCI another chance at the cajoling of a cruise mate friend. I hoped that RCI had changed it's attitude or it had been the draw of one bad apple. I'm waiting to find the answer.

That's not the only thing that has not been updated. The showtimes at a glance has not been updated for about 6 months. The last cruise on there was in March. The never updated it for the April cruises or beyond.

I have to wonder if they downsized and no longer care about updating their passengers with information about the items on the cruise they may be interested in.

They also take about 2-3 weeks to answer an email. I'll be cruising before I even get a response to my questions.

I have never had this with any other cruise I have taken with RCI. This one has been a planning disappointment!

Interestingly, that's also about the time that the Murder Mysteries scheduled for my cruise disappeared from the specialty restaurant options for my cruise (and, just when I was finally going to to commit to one of the two of them)

Are we uncovering a secret agenda and pattern of activity by RCI ?

!

I sent an email to the access department about an accessible excursion in St Thomas that said you MUST email them in order to participate 6 weeks ago or longer and have yet to hear back from them.

As far Im concerned, they lost out on that money from me. Im gonna do something on my own now

It's scary that customer services is so lacking before cruising. You have to wonder how its going to be while cruising or after if you have any issues/concerns.

I'm praying ours comes off without a hitch but its been difficult organizing when nothing has been updated.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but how would you like to find out less than 2 weeks before your cruise that the casino is going to be shut down for the first 7 days of our 16 day TA cruise for remodeling. Another lack of communicaton from RCCL.

All contact with the department responsible for updating the Meet & Mingle must be made by email because they have no published phone number. The only method of contact is www.exlora@rccl.com

I have sent an email each week for the last three weeks. In addition, I have phoned the RCI Reservations department once a wee for the last three weeks and they informed me that they have sent an email to the Updating department (their only contact method) asking them to contact me by phone.

I have had no replies to my three emails and I have had no repsonse to from my contact with the reservation department.

In the spirit of cooperation between two residents of a great state it wounds me deeply to point out your error. We were on the Enchantment on 2/27, and there was no updated M&M then either. Same goes for Voyager in December. I did see a bunch of updates after the first of the year, but, they just dried up. I don't check all the time, just when we're getting close to the cruise date. We agree though that it is annoying, and I don't understand why they can't keep the list current.

Sorry to disagree, but while they may have had all of last months up to date... my Feb 4th cruise was not and there were lots of posts at that time as well about this same issue. This is not something new.

Just as an example of the previous compliants:

While I don't share the passion and energy around the lack of specifics on the M&M, I do wonder if RCI customer service has started a downhill slide. I've been reading the boards for several months now, and while I have seen the occasional customer complaint, I don't remember seeing so many people say they cannot get a response from customer service.

Some folks that are on our Rhapsody cruise this summer have been fighting a losing battle over re-numbering of cabins due to the overhaul. They booked an aft corner, and have lost that cabin because it's number changed. I know many others have had the same problem. Some have had resolution, others not.

Does make you wonder, as someone else stated, if there's been a change for the worse at corporate. Time will tell if they can get their act together....
