Godspeed, Reltco. :)

My husband is a naval officer (reservist now) and I have been aboard a few navy ships, even did a short sail on one...I know the differences you're talking about. ;)

I hope you are back to PLEASURE crusing again soon!

Thank you for your service to us all. Stay safe. We will all be praying for you and all those serving around the world. You all are the best of what America has to offer.

Looking forward to your review when your return.

Thanks to men and women like you we are able to live in this great country with the freedoms we so do enjoy.

When you return please write your "cruise" and let us know about the chair hogs on your ship. I bet there is a good plan to keep them at bay! ;)

God bless you and the rest of your crew. :)

Godspeed, fella. If you do post a thread while you're gone about anything you need, I, and I'm sure so many others on this board also, will get it to you. You and your family are in my prayers and you have my appreciation for what you do.

I will second that offer. PLEASE, if you need anything, let us know, there are many who would love to help our men & women who serve the USA to protect our way of life

First of all, Reltco, thank you. Please tell your fellow shipmates the same. My brother is in the Air Force and we expect him to be deployed to the region once he finishes his flight training. Serving our country in any of the armed forces is an honorable profession and you should be proud of how your duties maintain freedom not just here, but around the world.

I find it sad to hear that some soldiers stand around at mail calls only to not have a letter, week after week...there are some great sites below that help find those troops and see that your letters of thanks get to them. If you're interested, here are a few places to start:

CARE PACKAGE Sites:
*Operation Military Pride
*Treats for Troops
*USO Cares

Letter/Mail Sites:
*Adopt-A-Platoon
*Any Soldier
*A Million Thanks

Donate your airline miles:
*Operation HERO Miles

I feel it is important, no matter how we feel about the war in Iraq, that we support our troops while they are deployed. My father was in Vietnam and was spit on and humiliated upon returning home, no soldier should feel they fight for an ungrateful country.

My brother and his wife are both Commanders stationed on the East Coast. I know the ups and downs of your sea duty - and God bless you for it!

My sons are both leaving for duty during the next few months and all the support this board shows for servicemen brings tears to my eayes. Thank you CCer's!!

I am overwhelmed by the number of responses to this post in a short amount of time. Call it a tribute to your patriotism! And there seems to be a lot of American Flag wavers out there cruising the high seas! These posts certainly make the separation from my family a bit easier to swallow.

Also, to all who offered, there are many lonely sailors here and I may pass off a few to be your e-pen pals. I know they appreciate anything sent from the states. God bless you all and thank you again!

A BIG thank you comes to you from Iowa, the heart of this wonderful country. Please stay safe and know that you and all your shipmates will be in our thoughts and prayers while you are gone. In those silent, dark, moments in the still of night, remember that we are all here waiting for you and your shipmates to come home safely. You are performing an admirable service for those of us who remain here, and we are grateful.
