"Gold by the inch"

Hi, On Celebrity Line they had a table set up near the stores with "Gold" by the inch. I usually bring this home for my grandchildren, they think it is real. This way if they lose it, it is not bad. I was wondering if the Caribbean Princess had anything like this???? Thanks for any info...

Real thin layer of gold plated over base metal. If you have allergies, you will be allergic to this jewelry.

It is definitely not Hypo-allergenic. It is nickel with a thin veneer of gold and will break anyone out who has allergies to base metals............jean :cool:

I also bought some years ago. It's pretty cheap to buy but doesn't last long. After a short time it lost all it's luster. Might be nice for grandkid gifts etc. as someone said above.

I bought a gorgeous bracelet and within 2 days had little red bumps and an itchy wrist! I can no longer wear the bracelet. My friend bought a bracelet for her daughter which tarnished within the first few days of wear - perhaps buyer beware :confused:

Really?!? I brought my brother a necklace and bracelet a couple of years ago, wears it everyday and it still looks pretty good.

I have a bracelet I got on my first cruise in 2000. I still wear it every day--and it still looks as good as new.. Maybe they gave me the real deal here./

My daughter bought some and had an ankle bracelet made of the silver with the dolphins. She has to have the non-allergic ear rings, etc but this jewerly never made her ankle break out. She has had it since 3/05 and wears it every day. However, some of the dophins have fallen off. :rolleyes: For what you pay for this stuff it has done pretty well. I have to get her a new one next cruise!:)

My wife bought both the gold and the silver several years ago. She keeps them in the original bags they came in and they still look like new. All ships have them and this year they had some with pearls and other stones. Looked very nice.

I purchased 2 of them on our first cruise which was back in 1999 on the Song of America. I wear mine frequently and they both still look new. They are gold in color with pretend "diamonds". I have sensative skin and have never broken out from them. Debby

Well I bought my first "gold by the inch" bracelet this year. So far so good.
