RvrCrzr Posted April 29, 2012 #1 Share Posted April 29, 2012 Just off the maiden voyage of Scenic Crystal where I met with the Managing Director, Glen Moroney. They announced many new things for Scenic Cruises in 2013. On this cruise we got to experience the changes upfront: Here are some of the biggest: -All-inclusive to include drinks and internet. -Quietvox GPS from AMS-BUD (already in place) This provides commentary on what you see from the ship as you go by. -Touch screen Navigators for tours on own (will replace QuietVox system) -River Cafe in lounge for alternate eating establishment -Butler service on all decks (higher decks receive more services) -25 Electric bikes (already on Crystal) -New ship in Russia for 2012 -New ship in 2013 -Private individual airport transfers/no more waiting for a busload. franski Posted April 29, 2012 #2 Share Posted April 29, 2012 Interesting... May have to re-look at them again - the higher price might be a bit easier to swallow if they add these extra items. I did love my Tulip Time cruise with them last year... Fran
Ozjohnno Posted April 29, 2012 #3 Share Posted April 29, 2012 Competition in river cruising is certainly starting to show and that can only be good for consumers.
RvrCrzr Posted April 29, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted April 29, 2012 River cruising is experiencing explosive growth right now. The 'boomers' are in retirement mode and it's going to get busy! Just the changes made in the past 2 years have been enormous for this industry...and the biggest is yet to come. I for one, love it. Products are getting more refined, lines including more and overall its a more customized experience for each market segment. Consumers win.
