Florida beach hotel recommendations

Have stayed at the Sheraton, Bahia Mar and Marriott when single. Now looking for a nice family place with that vacation feel for pre cruise. Peir 66 looks OK but no beach. Any recommendations?? The W is a little too contemporary for us.

Our family loves Lago Mar. Right on the beach (no streets to cross) it is family owned and run. Service is wonderful, and there are two nice pools. Nice restaurant for dinner, bar and restaurant out by the pool, a nice little soda shop and gift shop. Excellent buffet breakfast. Cant walk to anything for shopping, but thats OK with me. The concierge will call you a taxi for the quick ride to the pier in the morning. From the beach its a short walk to where the ships enter and exit the pier. We watched out ship arrive at five in the morning from our balcony. An "old Florida feel" to this family hotel.
