We would like to spend the day at the beach relaxing and swimming. Not interested in other excursions or snorkeling. What is the best beach on Belize? Ship vs private transport? Travel time to beaches? Thx in advance:o

Belize doesnt have beaches like that. Little to no wave action to create them.

Snorkeling or land tours are the bulk of activities.

What he just said.

Because Belize City is protected by the reef, no wave action, created no beaches. There are beaches farther south in the country of Belize but not near the city. You could go out to Bannister Island, or Goff's Caye, or Caye Caulker. These islands are exposed parts of the reef. But you will need to either book an excursion to them through your cruise line, in which case you may not even need to tender into town, they pick you up on your ship, or you can get a private tour, take the tender from the ship, go into town, and then catch a boat to one of the outer islands, spend a few hours, then get back on a boat, go back to town, and then catch the tender back to your ship. This is one of the reasons that while in Belize, most people book in advance. Hope this helps.

You may want to choose another port for your beach day. I have been told the ruins are wonderful to see. Zip lining and cave tubing are also listed as two big excursions in this port.
