By December 2, the days will be short. Not sure you will see much of the coast after sailing.

When you're out at sea, you won't be close enough to the coast to get much of a view.

 

Sailing out of Venice, your best bet is to be on the port side if you want to stay on your balcony, but we went down to the Promenade deck so we could see both sides.
