I've Just Returned, From The 5-05-12 Sailing On Carnivial Freedom!!! I Had A Great Time, But I Will NOT Be Sailing Carnivial In The Near Future!!!

I Sail Solo, And Carnivial Got Rid Of The Solo Supplement, And No Matter How Much Fun I Have... I Can't See Myself Paying A 200% Supplement To Sail Carnivial:eek:!!!

So Royal Caribbean, Princess, Norwegian, Look Out.. Here I Come!!!:p

I can't say for sure as I have not run any numbers, but given how much more expensive all those other lines you mention are - won't you wind up paying the same number of dollars, or awfully close???

Well, at least it's not for the decline in service, food quality, entertainment, chair hogs or "service" dogs:D.

You can take RCI off your list. I don't know about the others.

OP, I think you will find that more of the other lines do the same thing. It is good to hear that you had a great time...

Carnivial IS More Expensive "If" Sailing Solo!!! You Have To Pay 200% Supplement, With The Others It's 150%!!:o

Royal offers lots of single supplement deals..usually 120-135%

I once paid 106% on a last min booking with Royal.

OP

If you are willing to go the Early Saver route, Carnival is hard to beat on 7 day cruises to the caribbean, since many of the other lines have pretty slim pickings and charge a premium.

Curious...

When did you experience these things on Carnival?

Guess my attempt at humor wasn't as obvious as I thought it was. Sorry bout that. (And as my first CCL cruise is still 149 days away I have to wait for my second CCL cruise, which would be in 2014, in order to note a decline in anything;)).

Why is that? They have lots of 0 and up supplements. I saw a $299 balcony rate, 4 days on Liberty OTS. no supplement.

Try getting a balcony on Carnival for $150 X 200%, equals $300.

RCL and other cruiselines have much better rates for solos.

I suspect Carnival wants warm bodies and has driven them away on purpose.

Carnival is the only line I know of that never has solo deals below 200%. Anyone know of a line that is always 200% like Carnival?

Don't blame you, OP. Carnival's biggest (and to some, the only) attraction is its low prices. Take that away, you might as well live up some more. :p

Make no mistake, Carnival is a great line, offering a great product at a price most can afford. Kudos to that! I admire it a lot, the same way I admire Walmart. Nothing wrong with competing at price points. But again there are greater things out there, too.

Good luck!

That price difference is just $15 a day..and the FOS is smack dab in the middle of cane season, so it should be cheaper than a May cruise.

You dont mention cabin, but Im guessing you were in a porthole on Freedom and in a true inside on FOS.
