renlar Posted May 23, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Husband and I took our boys on the Carnival Fascination out of JAX in March. The boys absolutely loved it. We are going to book a cruise out of New Orleans for March 2013. There are 2 options - Carnival Conquest or RCI - Navigator of the Seas I've been looking online trying to compare these two..and it has made my decision more difficult. I know everything I've read - Carnival is more fun, RCI is more upscale. We like to drink (the couple we will go with really likes to drink/party as well) We are not picky with food and more than likely will eat in the Main Dining Room once. Both have almost identical itineraries. We would use the pool the most...maybe a show or 2..but not every day. We would also be booking a balcony. Any input would be very appreciated! chipq Posted May 23, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2012 You already appear to have them even, CCL a little better here, RCI a little better there. Go for the best rate. What you save in fare can be used for adult beverages. ChipQ. http://luv2cruise.blogspot.com
cb at sea Posted May 23, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Carnival's cabins are larger than RCI's....but RCI's ships are better laid out, with more public spaces and a better laid out buffet. (Stations, rather than 1 long line). The onboard experience (pools, shows, fun, etc...) will be about the same!
Rare mizLORInj Posted May 23, 2012 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2012 Ships are about the same size; RCI is a little fancier I think and yes Carnival cabins are a bit larger than RCI. Conquest has excellent waterslide (not just for kids!), don't think Nav does. I think I'd go on either and use another factor to decide.
Rare Keith1010 Posted May 23, 2012 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2012 In the end I hope you eventually try both but if you and the children were very pleased with your Carnival cruise I would book that one. Keith
trish1c Posted May 23, 2012 #6 Share Posted May 23, 2012 If everything else is equal book the cheaper cruise & spend the $$ on having fun.
