StaceyM Posted May 15, 2004 #1 Share Posted May 15, 2004 We have a group of 23 who will be on the Elation in June. We all want to snorkel in Belize and have been looking at our different options. I would love the opinions of you veterans on whether we should do the Coral Breezes Shark/Ray alley excursion or the one sponsored by Carnival. Please keep in mind that we have children with us that are ages 6 and up. Will Carnival allow Children that young to snorkel? Our main concern about the Coral Breeze excursion is the tender situation and how long it will take us all to get off the boat. Thanks in advance for your help! jean-lynd Posted May 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted May 25, 2004 When we went on our Coral Breeze trip we waited quite a while for the Carnival people to show up. With as many people as you have I am sure they will wait for you. I hope this helps! texas cruise kitty Posted May 31, 2004 #4 Share Posted May 31, 2004 Definately do Coral Breeze. We did last weekand loved it. My 6 year old had a blast, my 10 yr old had a difficult time with the life vest and the flippers. We were late getting off the ship but there they were waiting. This tour was well worth the money. Be aware though that the menu if you include the lunch was somewhat limited. You may want to do it without the lunch and order off the menu. p2lockhart Posted June 8, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 8, 2004 I did it in Jan. and had a great time. However, we waited a long time for our food to arrive, even though we ordered in advance, which cut down on the time I had to explore Caye Caulker. If I decide to do Coral Breeze again, I may bring a sandwich from the ship so I will have more time to explore. Liztoybiz Posted June 19, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 19, 2004 We just did Belize last week with Explorer of the Seas. We were impressed with Coral Breeze's guides (we loved Natalie) and their patience with our kids. They stopped in-route when they spotted dolphins and stayed there about 10 minutes so we could watch them. When we did Shark Ray Alley we saw several sting rays and two nurse sharks. It was awesome! Food was good, but they are working on the timing thing...apparantly on certain days of the week this has been a bit of a problem, but not on others. We have done lots of snorkeling excursions and would definately rank this one among the better ones. One thing I noticed was that our fellow cruisers who had taken the RCCL excursion had a much more crowded boat than ours... Have fun whatever you decide!
