denmarks Posted May 31, 2012 #1 Share Posted May 31, 2012 (edited) I just looked at the deck plans both at the website and the 2012-13 cruise atlas online and it does not show the new pizzeria on deck 5 that the Grand Princess now has. Does anyone know for certain if it was added to the Golden Princess or not? Edited May 31, 2012 by denmarks
RickEk Posted May 31, 2012 #2 Share Posted May 31, 2012 I just looked at the deck plans both at the website and the new 2012-13 cruise atlas online and it does not show the new pizzeria on deck 5 that the Grand Princess now has. Does anyone know for certain if it was added to the Golden Princess or not? All reports say that Alfredo's was NOT added to the Golden Princess at her last drydock. I'm bummed too... :)
Astro Flyer Posted May 31, 2012 #3 Share Posted May 31, 2012 I think the drydock was too brief to make such a major change...it would have been a great addition & I enjoyed it on the Sapphire very much.

robsaw Posted June 1, 2012 #5 Share Posted June 1, 2012 There were no major changes to ANY facilities on the Golden. Mostly carpet and upholstery in public areas that wasn't already changed out a few years ago on her last major overhaul.
highheel girl Posted June 1, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 1, 2012 All the major changes on the Golden, Crown Grill/Window suites/additional suites sky deck/moving the casino etc were completed in the drydock May 2009. No additional changes since. ;)
kath00 Posted November 12, 2013 #7 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Hi there, Sorry to bump this old thread but we just got off the Golden. It looked like it could really use a larger refurb. Anyone know when the next one is scheduled for her?
Astro Flyer Posted November 12, 2013 #8 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Hi there, Sorry to bump this old thread but we just got off the Golden. It looked like it could really use a larger refurb. Anyone know when the next one is scheduled for her? We're sailing the month of March on the Golden & couldn't locate any drydock info online. We last sailed the Golden shortly after her last drydock a couple of years ago. What things do you feel need to be refurbished?

Anyone know when the next one is scheduled for her? She had a minor 12 day drydock in May of 2012. Her next drydock will probably not be until 2015. Pam in CA Posted November 12, 2013 #10 Share Posted November 12, 2013 She had a minor 12 day drydock in May of 2012. Her next drydock will probably not be until 2015.Her next drydock is scheduled from September 25-October 6, 2014 in San Francisco. Routine maintenance is scheduled, not refurbishment. Painting, re-carpeting, new bedding, new TVs, etc. are done on a constant basis and don't require a drydock.

waltd Posted November 12, 2013 #12 Share Posted November 12, 2013 Wish they would change the Piazza to be more like the Sapphire. With the Sapphire the staircase does not dump you out in the middle of the Piazza but out toward the Art Gallery. There is more seating in the center of the Piazza because of that layout. Also like the bar area design better on the Sapphire. Again more seating.
