erby2283 Posted June 14, 2012 #26 Share Posted June 14, 2012 I am sure you have seen these names in the ports of calls thread but we LOVED Cosol's tour in St. Lucia and Royston's tour in St. Kitts. If you email Royston, he will be your personal cab for the day and take you where you want to go. Royston turned a 4 hour tour into 6 and never asked for a penny more! This was my favorite cruise I have been on. I have a review in my signature :o FYI - we didn't have anything planned in Barbados and regretted it. Even though we drove around with a taxi driver, I never did get the "feel" of the Island.
DebBrown Posted June 14, 2012 #27 Share Posted June 14, 2012 St. Thomas to St. John - Save your money. Take a local cab to the ferry and purchase a ferry ticket. Much cheaper than an excursion. Once you are on the island, there are beaches and restaurants within walking distance. Barbados - Beautiful island. We did a rum tour and got the history of the island as well as rum tasting and lunch. If I recall, it wasn't that expensive. This is one of my favorite islands. St. Maarten - Be careful when you rent a car. GET INSURANCE! We made the mistake of not getting it and someone stole a headlight. That was a $400 charge on our CC a couple of months later. Also, the food on the French side is to die for. Find a place where the locals go to eat.
