tandemcruzr Posted June 6, 2012 #26 Share Posted June 6, 2012 Ocean View with Standard Balcony Categories: 8A 8B 8C 8D 8E 8F 220 square feet total Stateroom 185 square feet Balcony 35 square feet Balcony (8446 8457) 75 square feet Window 4' W x 4' H This is the Splendor....did you want me to check anything for you? Mea Culpa -- My numbers were wrong. For Spirit Class ships, Standard Balcony is 4'X10' = 40 sq ft; Extended Balcony is 6'X10' = 60 sq ft; and a 7258 cabin is 6'X30' = 180 sq ft. Looking again at the scale on the Splendor, 8446 would be 4'X20' = 80 sq ft. Maybe the measurements for Splendor take into account the slope of the rail, and the Spirit measurements don't. Either way, 8446 and 7258 are primo balconies. :D
StingRaysfan Posted June 6, 2012 #27 Share Posted June 6, 2012 We did the aft wrap on our recent Valor cruise... Pros- Space, room configuration and view of the wake Cons- privacy from above, TOO MUCH SUN (I really hated the lack of shade a lot), and someone PUKED from deck 10 over the side and we woke up to vomit on our balcony the first morning. We only got chunks... the poor people above us on deck 8 probably had much worse. We will not be doing an aft again... but we did like those larger premium balcony (L shaped balcony cabins) near them on the back of the ship (our friends had that one)... still large enough for a lounger, but lots of shade and privacy...
