Customes questions about nyc

Good morning,

Sailing out NYC next week to Bahamas and Florida. My questions, do we go thru customs in FL or NYC? It doesn't matter to me just trying to figure out how quickly we will get off in NYC as we are staying two extra days and want to make the most of our two days in NYC?

THanks for any help

Charlene

Last month we breezed thru customs...we were in a suite..so priority disembark..got a porter (plenty available at that time)--and he walked us right up to customs...no line..no waiting....Whole process..from getting luggare to waiting at curb for car service...15-20 minutes..tops..!

Agree with jaja - priority disembark in a suite is sweet, get a porter and hopefully he steers you clear of some of the cranky customs guys - we had one who wouldn't stop asking questions. Eventually gave up on trying to save the extra $$ on the booze we bought - didn't realize it was only $2 bucks a bottle, I didn't care at that point, so confessed to a couple of bucks and tried to pay him - but you have to pay at the little window. Quickest we have ever gotten out of NYC in years - this was back in December '11.

Thanks - yes we are in full suite -so we should be good. I am going to ask the people on NCL for priority - just my daughter, gd and me and we won't be bringing back much if any alcohol.

You'll have a letter in your cabin on the last night with instructions to meet the concierge at a certain time and location and you'll be escorted off the ship.

You choose what time you want to disembark.. You go through customs in NY - you are going to FL before you are going to the ports outside the U.S.

We carried our luggage off in NY and were off by 8:15 - in the first group to be called off.

If you are staying in NY, you can't check into your room usually until the afternoon anyway, but your hotel will hold your luggage so you can go out and do something until your room is ready.

Kinda makes you wonder what happens if there's no alcohol to confess to....

You do not have to ask for anything. Just get off with the other suite people and away you go.
