IndyCapt Posted June 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2012 We plan to arrive on Amtrak in Baltimore the evening before our cruise on Enchantment. Can anyone give me some idea how close the Amtrak station is to the port? Hotel recommendations in that area for 1 night stay pre-cruise? Thanks! megr1125 Posted June 12, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2012 maybe 15 minutes or so... there is nothing near the train station really... you'd probably just want to stay in the Inner Harbor area, or Harbor East which is in that same general area.... then it's about a 10 minute, $15 or less cab ride to the pier.. as for hotels? what is the budget? there are several.....so if you give us an idea, we can suggest places..... In Harbor East area are a Courtyard, Marriott Waterfront, Fairfield Inn, Hilton Garden Inn, and Homewood suites, plus places to eat http://www.harboreast.com/hotels/ In the Inner Harbor area: Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott Camden Yards, Renaissance Harbor Place....a Sheraton, Days Inn, and Holiday inn... there are others too....there's the Admiral Fell Inn over in Fells Point..and more http://baltimore.org/about-baltimore/inner-harbor-hotels

Hotels with restaurants within walking distance would be a plus. Probably want to spend $125 or less...and a short cab ride to the pier next morning... mikedw Posted June 12, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 12, 2012 There's also BWI Rail Station which puts you right near the airport and all the hotels there. Still only about a 20 minute ride to the port.

I stay at the Hyatt Inner Harbor quite often. It is a nice hotel if it is in your price range. Most of the Inner Harbor hotels are within walking distance of many restaurants. Cab ride from the Inner Harbor to the cruise terminal is about 10-15 minutes traffic depending. Be sure when pricing hotels to check for any special rates you might qualify for (AAA, Military/Govt., credit card tie in's). Good Luck!

Thanks for this information. It will be really helpful to us since we are planning on a repositioning cruise from Baltimore and cannot park. Only problem with BWI Rail Station is that they don't have checked baggage. Not sure where you're leaving from, so that might not be an option. mikedw Posted June 15, 2012 #9 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Most of the North East Regional Trains don't have baggage so it shouldn't be an issue.

Hotel Brexton is very close to Penn Station Baltimore (not BWI). http://www.brextonhotel.com/ You'll have a 5 mile cab ride to the cruise terminal in the morning. ;)
