Lovetwocruz2009 Posted June 14, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2012 Husband is looking for a great food establishment in the Miami or FLL area. He is looking for spicy fried fish and shrimp. He enjoys all highly seasoned foods. Any ideas? Thank you.

Lovetwocruz2009 Posted June 15, 2012 Author #4 Share Posted June 15, 2012 Thank you for the suggestions. We really appreciate it. How about any ideas on a "soul food" and/or "cuban"establishment? We are staying 3 days precruise and want to have variety. Thanks again.

If not then go for Versailles in Little Havana. Instead of soul food try something a bit different give Tap Tap in Miami Beach a try for good Haitian food. royalcruz Posted June 15, 2012 #6 Share Posted June 15, 2012 The most famous are Versailles (Cuban) in Miami and Don Arturo (Cuban) in Fort Lauderdale. I like Las Vegas Cuban in Fort Lauderdale. Gathina Posted June 16, 2012 #8 Share Posted June 16, 2012 Joe's Smokehouse on Oakland Park Boulveard in Fort Lauderdale close to Dixie. True soul food..collard greens, hot water cornbread, peach cobbler, mac n cheese, ham hocks, ribs, chicken, sweet potato pie..love that place..I swear you can see the smoke from the highway a mile away Spicy: If you want to try some real authentic Central American food, just up the place from Joe's is La Molienda..it's a Salvadorian restaurant and have other Central American foods..some spice, some not so. Homemade tortillas, homemade salsa, homemade Batidas, and a whole host of meat and fish dishes. It's always very crowded with locals from that region of the world, and they do speak English there. Love their seafood stew..it's like $15 a bowl..which is more like a caldron for two people..with a ton of different fresh fish. They also make their beans and rice from scratch too. Thank you for the suggestions. We really appreciate it. How about any ideas on a "soul food" and/or "cuban"establishment? We are staying 3 days precruise and want to have variety. Thanks again.
