Guarantee Question

I've booked a balcony guarantee for a cruise in December. I've heard of people not getting assigned a cabin until they arrive at the pier. I have no idea if that is very common and sure hope it doesn't happen to me. How does that work with luggage tags? Do you give your luggage to the stevedore, even though it doesn't have a cabin number? Or do you hang on to it until you find out the deck and stateroom number?

When you arrive at the pier, the porters will have a list of cabins. They will look you up and give you your cabin number. You will then write it on the luggage tag(s) and attach them.

GTY cabin assignments can be made any time friom shortly after you have booked the cruise up until the time you arrive for check-in.

 

However, 99% or more of the cabin assignments are made before the day of the cruise, many in the last two weeks before the cruise.
