cruzn buckeye Posted June 17, 2012 #51 Share Posted June 17, 2012 The only thing I disagree with in your post (from Carnival's standpoint) is that they should be keeping the frequent cruisers happy. We don't spend anywhere near the money we used to on the ships (except in the casino, where we spend far more :o) but we've brought numerous others onto their first Carnival cruise. I wear my Carnival t-shirts to work alot of times and get into many discussions about cruising and Carnival. I've even offered to help people book when they decide to try cruising. I feel I'm not only an asset to Carnival because of our 6 cruises a year but also because of all the others who have tried Carnival on my recommendation :) So, while we may not spend as much onboard as a newbie, we do bring others along with us.... Agreed. I do the same...wear Carnival shirts... jackets... and also influence many to go with Carnival... the recent two cruisers that will be going on the same date as us... invited us over for margaritas... and just talking about their cruise... giving advice, and things they need to do or look forward to....this couple booked their first cruise on the Panaram deck, balcony on the Liberty.... so yes, we turn others onto cruising...with Carnival... and as a frequent cruiser... no matter what my age... I would appreciate being bumped to Diamond.. as was promised...
jewopaho Posted June 17, 2012 Author #52 Share Posted June 17, 2012 Personally I find new cruisers refreshing and energetic. Alive. When did Carnival ever have great coffee? :p Both valid points ... I totally agree!! ... and as a frequent cruiser... no matter what my age... I would appreciate being bumped to Diamond.. as was promised... This is pretty much what I'm trying to convey here ... as longtime cruisers, we don't figure prominently in Carnival's scheme of things. Once more, it's not an indictment of CCL. As a multi-billion-dollar public corporation, its primary obligation is to the shareholders, which dictates its course of action. This could well explain the recent cutbacks, largely affecting folks such as us ... nothing more, nothing less. Al
