SCW4665 Posted June 23, 2012 #31 Share Posted June 23, 2012 Planning to do buddys in 24 days. Were the patrons very rowdy? Hoping to go there with 8 senior citizens and 6 young teens. Hoping to sit across the road on the beach and enjoy some beer, margaritas and salsa. We don't mind a fun atmosphere but want to make sure the behavior outside isn't xrated. Thanks! I took my 3 year old to Buddys ... Sat across the street under an umbrella . There was hardly anybody there ... Gotta watch the waiters though .... They charged me $10.00 more than what the total should have been. Lots of vedors will hound you to death. You will end up telling the same people "no" 857 times .. ata1976 Posted June 23, 2012 #32 Share Posted June 23, 2012 We were on Elation last year. We didn't have any problems. In Progresso, You have to take a bus from the boat over to the town. On the way over we had a nice air conditioned motor coach. On the way back we had a rickety, no ac school bus. Lol! We took the $3 pp double decker bus tour - they make a quick stop for drinks - all coronas and cokes are $1. Beer was really cheap in this port, like 3 for $5 or something like that. A whole lot cheaper than the ship. They also had really cheap massages - like 30 minutes for $15.

adonisr Posted June 28, 2012 #34 Share Posted June 28, 2012 Just back from a Wonderful cruise out of New Orleans going to Progresso and Cozumel on the Carnival Elation. It had its highs and very little lows so if you have any questions about this ship then let me know. Does Elation have self serve laundry rooms? slugo Posted June 28, 2012 #36 Share Posted June 28, 2012 I just got off the elation a week ago. Great trip. I have read many threads about chair hogs on other cruises. I have been on the elation twice and have never seen a problem with a single chair hog on this cruise.

I agree - when we sailed her last month, chair hogging was minimal
target32 Posted June 28, 2012 #38 Share Posted June 28, 2012 We've got under 100 days (finally) until we sail on the Elation. Glad to see so many good reviews of the ship.
