BPCruiser Posted June 26, 2012 #1 Share Posted June 26, 2012 We are doing the Nordic Explorer Baltic Cruise in 2013 on the Marina and plan to do 2 pre days in Stockholm and 2 post days in London. Looking for any recommendations for nice hotels in these cities ( good location, breakfast included in price and if lucky, wifi free). According to O's current web site listing for this itinerary, their Hotels of choice Pre cruise in Stockholm are Scandic Park and Sheraton Stockholm/ Post Cruise .....Rubens Hotel in London or the Hyatt Regency Churchill. I would prefer to do our own Hotel Booking as O's pre and post Hotel prices are always so much more expensive. Have never traveled to these cities previously so hoping for some recommendations from this Board. Also plan to look at Trip advisor for ratings and reviews. Thanks! pacheco18 Posted June 26, 2012 #2 Share Posted June 26, 2012 You will find lots of hotel information on the Ports of Call boards. Just search for 'Stockholm hotel" - eg -- that's where most people search for and receive hotel recommendations and you will hear from more than just O cruisers. Paulchili Posted June 26, 2012 #3 Share Posted June 26, 2012 I would certainly highly recommend the Sheraton in Stockholm. It's a very nice hotel with a perfect location that is on the waterfront and is near (easy walking distance) to just about everything (City Hall, Gamla Stan, train station, shopping). They often have specials with lower rates and included extras (breakfast, Stockholm card, etc). As for London, why not open a Chase Hyatt card and get your 2 nights in London free with their promotion? :D
SeaBop Posted June 29, 2012 #4 Share Posted June 29, 2012 We made our own arrangements to stay 6 days at the Sheraton pre-cruise. Have been to Stockholm before and wanted to see more! The 7th floor Club Rooms and have full breakfast buffet, all-day refreshments, wi-fi, internet station, access to Club Lounge etc. It gets good rating and is handy to "just about everything" as Paulchili mentioned. Gail in California Posted July 2, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 2, 2012 I am on the July 2013 Nordic Explorer & will do 3 or 4 days pre-cruise at the Stockholm Sheraton. We are not staying post cruise in London but had done Rubens Hotel there 3 years ago. Nice hotel just across from Buckingham Palace , but small bathroom. Great location. We will be booking on our own as the package price from Oceania is exorbitant.
