Now the waiting begins....

Well, I went ahead and booked a 10 day Caribbean cruise for April 2013 and decided to book at GTY BG balcony. Now the waiting begins and the checking, and the waiting, and the checking and the waiting to see if I have a room assigned yet! (I have no patience at all!!!) While I'll be fine as long as I'm on the ship, there is always that hope that you'll get bumped up to a better catagory. I have done this twice now and been bumped up both times. Once from the lowest catagory inside to the highest catagory inside and the last time from a mid-catagory inside to the highest catagory ocean-view. Hopefully three times a charm and it happens again! :D

We did the same thing for our 20 days on the Emerald in February. Booked a cat gg OV and we'll see what we get!! As long as we are on the ship we will be happy! This is our first guarantee after 20 cruises with Princess.

CruisinKLB: I know what you mean about having no patience. We're booked for the 12/5 Golden to Hawaii and I thought I'd have to wait forever to get a cabin assignment. I was deathly afraid of those horror stories of people not getting assigned a cabin until they arrive at the pier. But, now with about six months to go, we were assigned a cabin last week! In fact they've moved us twice. So hang in there and hopefully you'll get a really nice upgrade.

By the way, we were neighbors once. We lived in Sebastopol before moving to Arizona.

You have a long wait ahead of you. I've never booked a cruise that far in advance. The worst wait we had was from October until July. We ended up upgrading ourselves when there was a price drop before the final payment date. Be sure to keep looking at prices and you may be able to do the same thing.

We did the same for our cruise on the Caribbean leaving the same day. We did an inside cat K GTY. Absolutley no expectations except we are on the ship. I am mentally prepared to wait until we check in for our cabin assignment. :p

Oh yes! I love Sebastopol. I was just out there last Sunday. We always plan our vacations far in advance because of work schedule and finances. I HAVE to have something to look forward to. It keeps me getting out of bed and off to work each day! I have been doing a lot of research on things to do on this itinerary, so that should keep me distracted and busy for awhile

I definitely will keep my eye on the prices because I know they tend to fluctuate Thanks for the reminder though!
