Carnival- Alcohol Question

I read on the Carnival website that you can bring on 1 bottle of wine per adult over the age of 21. They mentioned a corkage fee and drinking the bottle at dinner. My question is can you pay the fee, and bring the bottle to your cabin?

You shouldn't have to pay a corkage fee if you drink the wine in your cabin. Corkage is only if you take the wine to the dining room.

The corkage fee does not apply to your own room but having it in the dining room.

We carried on wine to a Carnival ship last summer. Drank it in our cabin. No corkage fee.

We would get empty wine glasses from a bar fill them from our bottle and carry them to dinner - no corkage.

There were three of us over 21 so I had three bottles which I kept in my room on ice. I filled a large glass every evening and carried it into the dining room...no fee. After dinner if I wanted another I would simply go back to my room for a refill. Saved a bit of money .....
