Is It Me Or Does Liquor Seem Water-Downed?

Recommended Posts

I worked in bars & nightclubs for many years and never even heard of anyone in the business putting water in with liquor in a bottle to make it go further.

That is one of the stupidest thing people say.

The profit margin on liquor is very high to began with, and being on a ship without all the taxes it makes even more money.

The bartenders wouldn't never do it..

I concur! But one man's pour is another man's drop...hee hee..mine are always juuuuuuust right!

My husband had three margaritas one evening that got stronger as the evening went on (and cheaper, in another bar, interestingly enough.)

The last one made your head snap back.

But a few swallows later and it tasted just fine! Amazing how that happens!

Also, the guy on sailing day handed me my pina colada first, then happily added more rum (as I made room) in between handing everyone else (four other people) theirs! They hold a tray full of virgin frozen coladas and when they serve you they add the rum. I never realized how much rum you can stuff in a pina colada and still have it taste quite yummy!
