Can the mini suites really be sold out for president's week 2014? Say it ant so. Looking for a quad not a double. Suggestions??

Yes, they can be sold out.

 

Choices are the obvious ones: different cabin, different week, different ship

It may be that the quad occupancy mini suites are sold out. In fact triple/quad occupancy levels may have been reached for the whole ship, even though double occupancy cabins are still available.

 

But its possible that all minis are sold out as well.

A quick check of the Feb 16, 2014 sailing, which includes Presidents' Day, shows quad availability in categories MA, MB and MC.

Sounds like Lew has seen cabins available. Plus, there could be high volume, Princess travel agents that are holding blocks of rooms. Might be worth checking with a few of them.
