OCruisers Posted July 12, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2012 Are there any fun beach or water front bars VERY close to the cruise ship dock?

Curtzilla Posted July 17, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 17, 2012 There's a few bars right by the pier along the waterfront. I don't remember a beach there, though. Here's the left and right of the Roseau waterfront from Summit in 2010
aimodels Posted July 22, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 22, 2012 There's no beach close to port. I think the nearest bar is Ruins Rock. Walk off the ship, straight down the dock, cross Bay St. and keep going straight ahead. You'll walk past the Royal Bank on your left and the Museum on your right. Ruins Rock is less than 100 ft. past the bank on your left - can't miss it. Very interesting place to visit... Cheers, P:)
OCruisers Posted July 22, 2012 Author #6 Share Posted July 22, 2012 Thanks, P! The upcoming will be our 5th port stop in Dominica. On the others we have taken some sort of tour which we never really enjoyed so this time we just want to find an interesting bar. Very much appreciate your time to give the detailed directions. We're OK with shabby rustic bars so seems Ruins Rock could be a good fit for us! :D
aimodels Posted July 23, 2012 #7 Share Posted July 23, 2012 No prob! Let's just say Ruins Rock has quite the charm and character... There's also a craft and souvenir market right across the street behind the museum. Cheers, P:)
traveler to be Posted August 12, 2012 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2012 looking for a "quiet" beach to enjoy some sun and swimming without being bombarded with " jewelry sellers".. is there a beach like that? thanks for any info Treva
OCruisers Posted August 27, 2012 Author #9 Share Posted August 27, 2012 Treva .... Dominica is a beautiful lush green island BUT is not known for its beaches. You might want to consider doing something else in Dominica and enjoying a beach day on another island. ~~~~
