JohninDC Posted July 16, 2012 #4 Share Posted July 16, 2012 Last cruise for 4 of us plus lots of luggage (travelling with wife and 2 daughters :o) I just gave the guy $30 and called it a day. Good luck! :)
miamiyogi Posted July 16, 2012 #5 Share Posted July 16, 2012 I'm with JID on this one. Before you leave home make sure you have a $20 bill and a $10 bill. Just give it to the guy and call it a day so you don't have that awkward moment of the cabbie hunting for change. Keep in mind your poor driver was probably in an airport queue for 2 hours or more before he got to pick you up at the airport. Here's a blurry shot of the taxi queue looks like on a slow weekday afternoon.
eandj Posted July 16, 2012 #6 Share Posted July 16, 2012 DH gave the driver $28 on our last ride a couple months ago. We had carryons only. I always carry $20 in singles when traveling. No problem with tipping where we feel appropriate. Don't think we would ever consider how long a driver was in line before we showed up.
