phantomII Posted August 7, 2012 #401 Share Posted August 7, 2012 When I called CAS it was in the computer already. They did not cancel and rebook and I kept all the perks from the original reservation. I wasnt paid in full (dont know if that matters!). I was sent an email with a confirmation that I had the OBC in addition to the other perks (wine, dinner at steakhous, dinner at italian, strawberries)Plus I also have the platnum perks-cant wait till january! What is CAS?
boopsahoy Posted August 7, 2012 #402 Share Posted August 7, 2012 Sorry! CAS is Casinos At Sea. You get a card in the casino and get points for playing and when you want to book another cruise they will sometimes offer you a free room of some sort (free but u ahve to pay taxes of course) The last 2 years weve been offered a free minisuite and we upgraded to penthouse large balcony aft suite for less than the price of a regular balcony room. Its a great perk but now we are in love with the suite life and it will be hard to go back. Hopfully we wont have to LOL

boopsahoy Posted August 7, 2012 #409 Share Posted August 7, 2012 We never did get a card. Next time I will. I dont know how much you play but it couldnt hurt. If you reach 1500 points you can drink for free in the casino (and if you book thru CAS you get a free drink card when you board). You also accumulate points and they can be used as cash against your bill (I dont remember the conversion rate). As long as you are playing you might as wll get the card and hopefully you will get some of the perks!

No luck. :( I called the number above and the OBC was "showing" but then the lady said you booked through Josh so I am going to send you over to that department. Of course he was no longer there and the lady I got read today's email which said it could only be applied to bookings from July 1 to Aug 31. I did get the $100 per person price drop so that's something. And the OBC is there if I want to book something else before 8/31. Funny how it works for some and not others. monygrl Posted August 7, 2012 #411 Share Posted August 7, 2012 FINALLY got my OBC. *happy dance* I am going with my hubby and my brother in law and his wife. So I sent away for two brochures. Called a few times to see if I could get it applied but they were very adament I had to wait. I got an email saying something about my lattitude number. Never got one for my in laws. They got the brochure the other day and I never did. Called again last night and they told me the TA has to call, not me. (I dont think that is true, I thought other people here did it without their TA) Finally called my TA and gave her the magic number for my in laws and she got it taken care of for both of us. But we had booked before we got the brochure so I would say to keep calling and eventually you will get it.

HLWCruze Posted August 8, 2012 #413 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Okay, I am a first time cruiser and we booked with our TA about a week ago. We only received a $50 onboard credit...I wonder why we did not receive the $100 credit that everyone is referring to? Our cruise is for April 2013. Also, I keep seeing people say they are requesting the brochure from HSN.com, but that takes me to the Home Shopping Network....where do I apply for this brochure? Thanks for your info and your patience with this newbie!!!:D

Ron & Kristy Posted August 8, 2012 #416 Share Posted August 8, 2012 The book will take about 2 weeks to arrive. It is much more than a brochure, actually very nicely done. We used our NCL PCC for this trip. I did not have to have the brochure to get the discount applied to our cruise in December. If you are using another TA I am not sure what the procedure is but you do have to either have a cruise booked and then rebook it or you have to book a new cruise. We rebooked ours because the price went down. Some people might not even realize that their cruise was actually rebooked with a different code. I didn't realize it at first. We now have the "dash" code applied to ours and that was not what it was to begin with. There has been a lot of confusion and controversy with this credit unfortunately. Someone asked how they get to the request on the HSN website. If you go to the upper right corner there is a search box. Just put NCL in the search and the page will come up. Fill out the information and hit the send button. My NCL PCC could see that I had applied for the brochure almost immediately and she applied the credit right away. kanitter Posted August 8, 2012 #417 Share Posted August 8, 2012 I know that the small print says this obc is only for sailing dates 2012 & 2013 but I was told by my pcc this morning that he would let me use it for my 2014 cruise. So if anyone decided not to try it based on when they were cruising I would rethink that. It never hurts to ask and you may be pleasantly suprised. :D
Bars7816 Posted August 8, 2012 #418 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Don't you just love "customer service" like that? I would say, well I just don't know, but I will certainly find out right now -- please hold for just a moment. Of course, I might just go away and buff my nails for a minute, but still, you would be happy! I would fire that guy's arse!!:D:D:D
Rare Birdnutty Posted August 8, 2012 #419 Share Posted August 8, 2012 In talking to my PCC last night, she told me that the PCC's that had applied credit without cancel/rebooking were told to call back their customers and do the whole re-booking thing to make it "right" Dd ANYONE receive such a call? I'm guessing not. I'm still hoping I can get the credit. When I called the number, I gave the res # that I wanted the OBC applied to. The lady asked if I'd booked thru a PCC, and I said yes. She hooked me up with my reg PCC (without asking who it was, so I guess the PCC's name is attached to the res somehow). So I didn't really have an option to go with someone different. My PCC said the rule was that the booking had to be made between 7/1 and 8/31. I explained that my letter did not say that. It said only that the booking had to be made prior to 8/31. Didn't even say it had to be a NEW booking. She found that very interesting, had me scan and email it to her and said that she'd send it to Corporate. We'll see how this one works out. offandon Posted August 8, 2012 #421 Share Posted August 8, 2012 My experience with the HSN promo: I had booked my cruise last week through CAS because the discount was so good. I knew I had the HSN book coming but in my excitement about booking I had forgotten all about it. So yesterday my HSN book arrived and I called the number on the letter and asked about the credit. I was stonewalled big time. She was not mean or anything but there was no budging at all. I would have to rebook and this was not a casino person so my discount would not be there, etc. So this morning I tried calling direct to CAS. A very nice woman asked for my reservation number and name and after two stints on hold she came back and said she applied the credit for me. I logged on to MyNCL and sure enough I now have $250 OBC instead of the $150 I had before. Another example of different results by going different paths. Keep on trying if you have been denied. :)

sbrest Posted August 8, 2012 #424 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Background: We've had the cruise booked in 2011 via the online travel agent and made the final payment in June 2012. We have ordered the HSN brochure about 10 days ago and still haven't received it as of today. I've decided to try my luck today and called 866 number. The first representative has asked me for my phone number, found my online request. Then I gave her my latitute# and she immediately told me that she needs to transfer me to the group bookings department which she did. The second rep from the group booking dept was super nice but coud't see the HSN credit attached to my reservation. She has tried hard, went back and forth between the supervisor and me several times. There was a confusion if my booking is eligible because it was made in 2011. She has confirmed that the brochure only mentiones the final booking date 08.31.2012 but not the start date of the booking window. Therefore it should be eligible. After about 20 minutes of back and forth she accidentaly found that the second latitude number has been created under my name and the HSN credit was attached there. I think I have used different mailing address when requesting HSN brochure from NCL latitude address. Her supervisor had both of the latitude accounts merged and the $100 applied to the booking. The respresentative has been great and said to never give up! Her exact words $100 will buy you a lot of drinks on the ship :) Needless to say we are extremely happy and will book another cruise with NCL before August 31 because we love crusing on NCL anyway. However we want to take advantage of this offer one more time. This time we will try to use my wife latitude account with another brochure that we've ordered in her name. Thank you CC & NCL! CindyCT Posted August 8, 2012 #425 Share Posted August 8, 2012 Just wanted to let folks know that I received my brochure in today's mail, with the letter dated July 19, 2012. Instead of calling the 866 # in the letter, I did contact my travel agent, who took the code from the letter and after putting me on hold for several minutes, came back and said it was applied to my account. I just checked myNCL.com and the $100 OBC is there. We booked in early June, 2012 for a cruise on the Epic on 1/5/2013. So just to let you know there is hope for someone with an existing booking! We recently went on our first NCL cruise in March, 2012, so we are not frequent cruisers with NCL.... yet!!
