ginnie 66 Posted July 19, 2012 #1 Share Posted July 19, 2012 Hi there, my hubby and i are going on p&o Azura for 24nights to the caribbean in october and would be grateful for any tips for trips around the islands i.e. which ones we should book with p&o and any that we can visit cheaper doing ourselves as this is our first time in the caribbean and some of the tours on offer can be quite expensive. Also any clues on the weather in october (we will be visiting portugal first, traveling from southampton)will we need any warm clothing whilst at sea? Any tips on anything will be appreciated. Thx Ginnie x
cb at sea Posted July 20, 2012 #2 Share Posted July 20, 2012 Your best friend will be a guidebook...get one! The Caribbean countries are VERY easy to do on your own, without any excursions at all, depending on what interests you. In the U.S., guidebooks are in every library, but all bookstores carry them! Get one! The weather in the actual Caribbean is nice all year round....think shorts and bathing suits! If you have a stop in the Bahamas, it could be cooler, as that's the Atlantic! On deck, at night, when the ship is moving, it can be windy, but it's not "cold"....just windy! You will not need winterwear by any means. You may want a light jacket or sweater for evenings on deck, or the theaters/dining rooms....sometimes, the A/C can feel chilly.
