cruise disembark...can I stay?

We live an hour from port so we are never in a rush to leave the ship. We tend to sleep in a little later (we send all of our stuff down the.night before, but we pack lightly anyway) and keep a tote bag or easy to carry items for our pjs, night stuff and things we will need that morning, in the room and carry it with us. Galveston is notorious for lomg disembarking lines so we usually get off about 10 then leisurely leave Galveston and head home. As long as your out of your room by the time they need to clean it then there shoudnt be a problem hanging around on the lido deck, as lo.g as your not hauling your luggage or keeping the staff from doing their jobs.

They will kick you out of your cabin by 9 am.. whats the point of hanging around sitting in a lounge or the buffet with your suitcases for a extra hour? (my cabin steward has come by and knocked and suggested I leave SOON .. and that kinda gets me out of the cabin anyway a bit early if I know I have to leave soon anyway)

Thats why I go ahead and leave. They dont let you sit in your cabin .. and its boring to me to sit with my luggage. But you can lollygag and take your time at least.

Since we mainly cruise out of Long Beach, we stay til the end because we don't want to deal with Los Angeles rush hour traffic.
