Games That You ONLY Play on A Cruise

Weather it's playing Monopoly in the Game Room, playing Gin Rummy on deck, or spending some cash for Roulette in the casino, playing games are awesome things to do during a cruise for many. But, are there any specific games that you and your ship mates only seem to play when you're on a cruise?

For my family and I, it's always been the game of Yahtzee. Every cruise we have taken, we have always set aside one night to have our annual Yahtzee tournament. We even pack our own game in our luggage just to play for that one special night!

What sort of games do you play while on your cruise?

Two things. While my wife and I play cards, bridge 95% of the time, but we seldom play with each other.

On cruise ships, most of those cruises that we have been on have organized ACBL bridge, and we always play together. If and when we have a couple of hours of free time, we will play rummy, until another couple show up for bridge. Also, in the theater we always play rummy until the curtain goes up.

LCR dice game. A poster over on the Carnival board turned us on to this game. It is so much fun and addictive. In addition, the entire game comes in a small tin that is pocket-sized so it's very easy to pack and carry around. You can play with the chips that are included in the game or real money; or if you are playing with the kids, can use Hershey Kisses.

My sister takes this game with her everywhere she goes. If I ever get her on a cruise with me, I better make sure she brings it!

Shuffle board! I don't even know where else we could play other than a cruise ship.

I grew up with a shuffleboard court in my back yard. We played A LOT. We had it resurfaced and repainted many a time. When I was in grade school, and friends would come over, we would play sometimes, but most of them thought it was really boring. My siblings and I loved it, though. I'm not sure I've actually seen it on a ship, though.

Yes, there are certain things that make the cruise official for my husband and I. And one of them is playing the card game "Casino" as well as Gin. That is how I know we are definitely on vacation.

Of course, have to get in a shuffeboard game and mini golf, too....
