Georgiagolfer Posted July 26, 2012 #51 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Checked on a cruise we are looking at for January, and it is still the same price.
djd7292 Posted July 26, 2012 #52 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I am new to Carnival so not sure how price drops really work. Checked my cruise & it is still $759 but would get a $50 OBC (only 2 ppl in my room). Since I have already booked my cruise & paid my deposit; do I still qualify for the OBC or is that only on new bookings?
Bugman Posted July 26, 2012 #53 Share Posted July 26, 2012 November Legend cruise dropped $40. I'll take it!:D
Pineapple Princess Posted July 26, 2012 #54 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Carnival sales usually are not so much about price reduction as they are about free upgrades. The three of us can go from a 8D balcony to a 8G for a total of $20 more. It more about getting a better location for the same $$. I guess that would qualify as a sale.
tea4ular Posted July 26, 2012 #55 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Just checked our sailing/cabin category as well...$100 p/p more than our price. No sale!
carpeperdiem Posted July 26, 2012 #56 Share Posted July 26, 2012 I booked Magic for Aug 26 YESTERDAY -- I *thought* I received a fair price... 72-hour Sale? Yikes... (at this point my wheels are spinning -- will I receive a credit or refund and do I have to call the TA...) Ah - no worries. It looks like they raised posted prices across the board, then put it all on sale. Net-net for the exact same 8C booking is identical today vs. yesterday (after all upgrades and discounts) -- but without the "sale" the pre-discounted price is actually higher. It's clever marketing though...
repogirl49 Posted July 26, 2012 #57 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Carnival sales are generally anything but a sale. Got to agree with you, rarely does it make a difference. 100.00 OBC but the fare cost 120.00 more. I book early saver and then sometimes the rates come down, some times they don't. Julie G. blondietink Posted July 26, 2012 #58 Share Posted July 26, 2012 The cabin on our October cruise is up $200.00 under this "sale".
Emptynesternow Posted July 26, 2012 #59 Share Posted July 26, 2012 Booked an ES for the Dream....got $40 credit total for my hubby and myself earlier.....yesterday they had the senior rate up for just 1 day...got $155.83 (odd number I know)...in OBC....we're in a balcony cabin...and I'm doing the happy dance! riclop Posted July 27, 2012 #61 Share Posted July 27, 2012 Another non carnival sale. They will give you 100.00 but charge you 230.00 more than the early saver rate. UNREAL
Runaway Parent Posted July 27, 2012 #62 Share Posted July 27, 2012 I usually try not to post negative things...but the sale is a joke. I'm watching my daughter's honeymoon cruise for price drops/ES credits. Two days before the sale the price went up $50 pp. Well...the "sale" is dropping the price down again...by $50. Dumb. mountaincruiser20 Posted July 28, 2012 #63 Share Posted July 28, 2012 Just checked our Oct. on the Sensation and it went up another $10 per person today for the 3 day. Still shows plenty of cabins available.
MsTee Posted July 28, 2012 #64 Share Posted July 28, 2012 I thought this was pretty funny: It's especially funny since the date of the cruise is 8/19/2012. You would have to pay the full fare immediately anyway, so it really doesn't matter that they are offering reduced deposits! This is hilarious!
golfadj Posted July 28, 2012 #65 Share Posted July 28, 2012 Checked the pricing for our Sept cruise and price has been the exact same for about 10 days. What a joke
