Carry-on storage at Heathrow

My daughter is flying from IAD to Johannesburg with a stopover at Heathrow. The layover is 12 hours, so she wants to go into London. Are there any storage lockers for her carry-on? She is flying on Virgin Atlantic. She leaves on 8/1/12. (I just found out about this today, or I would have asked sooner.) She is very familiar with London.

I'm assuming you are on an overnight flight from IAD to LHR. If you want to get a hot shower without paying for a hotel room, there are public showers outside security in Terminal 4 - they are free unless you need to rent a towel kit (5 pounds last year).

I find it difficult sometimes to select the correct Google reference, sometimes winding up in a different universe in my search. Of course, this never happens with my friends at CC.
