4 ships in port!!!

We'll be in St. Maarten on October 24th and there will be 4 ships in port (Carnival Dream, Celebrity Summit, Norwegian Gem and Oasis of the Seas). These are large ships with large amounts of passengers so we're expecting the port to be very crowded.

 

Has anyone been in St. Maarten while 4 ships were in port?

Would you do a cruise-sponsored excursion or private-operated tour?

We had 8 in port last January. Leave the ship as early as possible to try to get ahead of the crowd. We did Bernard Tour which was wonderful, but he had credit card trouble because so much activity. Just beware! ENJOY!

October is a slower month on the island. You should be fine with 4 ships in port. Leave the ship early and give yourself time to get back with a good buffer to do some shopping or a stop at a restaurant or bar prior to returning to the ship.

Oasis, of course, carries the equivalent of more than one ship but you should be okay.

 

It'll be crowded but St. Maarten will handle it.
