Can someone tell me why

Can someone tell me why the ships that leave out of New Orleans and Galveston never have Half Moon Cay on the itinerary? Is it that it's too far? I know they go to Nassau and Freeport so I wasn't sure. We just came back from a cruise that stopped there and it was so beautiful. We'd love to do another cruise that stopped there, but from a port that's closer to home. I just wondered if anyone knew why.

Since HMC is part of the Bahamas, if they can stop at two ports in those islands, they could stop there if they wanted. I think HAL has first right to HMC, not Carnival and they probably dont have any more days they can port ships there. HAL has bumped Carnival ships before.

I have been to HMC once. It cany have only 1 ship at a time. Thic is allocated between HAL and Carnival ships.

HAL and CCL share the island and only 1 ship per day there so no way more than 7 ships in a week so not too many ships get to go there...CCL was looking at getting their own island but haven't seen anything about that in a while.

I was there in 2008 on the Zuiderdam.

There was another HAL ship there.

 

Don't think they want to mix the HAL crowd and the CCL crowd.

I think that is hiilarious! Some of the most hardcore nice drunken fun party people we ever met (in their 30's) out of four crusies was on our HAL cruise!
