red velvet cake!

Recommended Posts

The red velvet cake I make has buttermilk in it and is very moist. It also has 3 tbls. of cocoa and 2 oz. red food coloring. But my icing does not have cream cheese icing, which I do like. My icing has a mixture of cooked flour and milk, which will be thickened, then refrigerated until cold. Then a creamed mixture of butter, sugar and vanilla. Then you mix the 2 mixtures together. It is sooooo good and not sickeningly sweet.

I will also say that the Duncan Hinds red velvet cake mix is also very good and also a whole lot easier and faster.

I always make red velvet for Christmas.

I will be on the Enchantment is less than 2 weeks. Will they have red velvet cake in the Viking Crown Lounge? If so, where? I was on this ship in March, April and May and didn't know of them to have this.

Thanks,

Gwen :)
