I just can't believe that they have the larger balconies that same tinny table... Where am I going to put my computer :D.

Leave laptop at home! take more memory cards for camera. You need to relax, snap away, relax, enjoy, relax, drink, relax, snap away, relax, eat, relax, drink, snap away, relax, sleep, relax, drink, and forget about the laptop and INTERNET, we can wait until you have returned home.

:D:D:D

P.S. I went thru your X Silly thread - fabalous, fabalous, but Breakaway eats the X Silly out with the dining venues - more room between tables.

Hope you really enjoy Breakaway .... and Bermuda!!

Love ya! And your mom!! We LOVE martinis and would very happily gone with you for all those martinis. As for the Espresso martinis, our fave restaurant in Bermuda is Harbourfront - serves fantastic sushi - and they serve Harbourtinis - highly addictive! We are regular there and when we ask for coffee they know it's the 'tinis!! Once we had a Danish visitor and we had 8 each ... yeppers, they had to remove us from the ceiling!!

First timer poster, been lurking for a few months to research a trip for next year.

That said, I was just wondering if there are any accurate photos for us steerage passengers, namely the four person family inside and the ever allusive and rarely mentioned five person family oceanview. I've seen numerous photos incorrectly labeled such as the usa today photos of the family oceanview with round forward porthole windows and only two beds (which I know deck five has rectangle windows) and a video of an inside cabin (12613) that ncl's website has marked as a 4-person but is clearly a two person (no pullman beds at all).

Maybe I'm impatient but it seems all the other staterooms have gotten all the love!

Its a pity we cant swap i totally would :p

Just wondering as I am thinking about a cabana what is your think behind booking it.

Have you read anything about smoking around the haven area. I smoke

I know on the Epic, I smoked at the bar in Posh as did numerous others, so hoping its the same in Vibe - adults only makes it nice.. Too many kids in the Haven itself to smoke, and don't know if it was even allowed - there were always too many kids there, we never even went in. Never went to the Haven Sundeck but I would imagine its no problem to smoke there either.

I am hoping to reserve a cabana for hubby and daughter as I cannot go in the sun at all (8 bouts with skin cancer so far - the perils of a redhead growing up n the beach).. This way, I can meet them up there once in a while and sit in the guaranteed shade, giving them a break from each other if they want (on the Epic I would meet hubby at the shaded bar in Posh). I spend most of the day in the casino, and hubby likes to come hang out sometimes, but spends most of his time on a lounger - this way he has a seat whenever he wants it, same with daughter. I imagine they will come and go, try the slides and the ropes course, etc. it's expensive, but will make life for all of us a lot easier. The forward Haven sun deck looks great, if it only had shade!!!

Will be interesting to see some more reviews from the transatlantic, as I think the Haven door was open for the one nighter... Of course, the sun decks may not get used at all during what I expect will be a chilly sailing, but it might give us a better idea.

About the balconettes ... sorry if you are unhappy about the size, but it won't bother us as we are not the ones sitting out there for length of time - we go out there to enjoy the sunsets, sunrises, moonlights, departure from and arrival to ports, etc.

We prefer to lounge out on sundeck or in lounges, and have drinks served to us. On Breakaway it'll be the Waterfront!

Lots of times there is no sun shining into the balcony to keep us warm on the cooler weather cruising, plus it's too hot to sit out in hot and humid - like July, Aug & Sept while docked in Bermuda for 3 days. So, please do not get too upset. There's the Waterfront anytime!

JMHO and my 2 cents.

We'll go on the Breakaway someday!

There was a pic several pages back of an inside cabin with one Pullman bed, I think the fourth was a pop-up trundle but was out of sight. Someone mentioned that this was an accessible cabin, though, so size might not match up with a regular inside. Try looking back 10 or so pages, I am sure that's where I saw it!

Yes, thanks, I saw that one, and it is an accessible. I never knew there is such a thing as a pop-up trundle! I'm mostly interested in the family oceanview since the floor plan is very similar to a balcony or a mini-suite without the balcony of course. I don't plan on spending hardly any time in my cabin except to sleep, and with two kids I'd like a little more room than a regular inside.

Oh my, you could be right! Or maybe it's another error on the EU site! Might be they took away some cabin space and made it up with the huge balcony? This could be interesting! I have an idea.. Lemme check it out..

I just went to the sun deck on the gem to smoke. I think it will be the same on the breakaway. Which is totally fine.

Thats sounds like a perfect set up for you guys. I am Irish so I totally get the need for shade. I saw a pic somewhere that had umbrellas up at the front. I have looked at what feels like a few thousand photos in last few days so I have no idea where I saw it, but I did :)

Yes it could be an error, but that was my thought as well.

Well I don't know what happened with the info that shaun posted, but here's what I just copied from the same site for the same room:

------------------------------

Breakaway 8136 Mini-Suite With Larger Balcony 8 Standard

Capacity - 3 , Cabin Includes Hair Dryer , Bed Near Balcony

Door , Sitting Area , Desk , Pier Forward , Port Side ,

Television , Cabin Square Footage (204) , Forward Section ,

Shower , Safety Deposit Box , Telephone , Internet Access ,

Private Balcony , Sprinklers , Mini Bar , Foldable

Sleeper/Playpen , Tea And Coffee Maker , Convertible King

Size Bed , Total Square Footage (322) , Floor To Ceiling

Sliding Glass Doors , Balcony Square Footage (118) ,

Convertible Single Sofa Bed , Clothes Line In Bathroom ,

Refrigerator

-------------------

And as you can see: 322 (total sq ft) - 204 (cabin sq ft) = 118 (balcony sq ft) :D

Strange!! I just picked a random date to get the info. I don't know why it would be different on different dates. If it was the USA site then I would have no trouble with the error.

I just tried a few other dates and none showed the info from earlier.:confused::confused::confused:

Well, his post #4799 did have different numbers...same cabin too. As soon as I noticed 154 square feet interior, I questioned it to make sure I am understanding it correctly.

This sure is strange.

Well I tried to go to my trusty cruise deck plans dot com site to stack the decks and compare balconies to mini suites in that M6 section, but it doesn't work on an iPad. Found a few interesting facts though - #1 it lists all balcony and mini suites as having an 18sf balcony (lol) with a disclaimer about aft minis being larger. #2 it says mini suites vary from 172 to 204 sf total.. Interesting.. Also, by looking at the deck plans, it looks like both the mini suites and the balcony cabins next door both start evenly at the hallway - so assumption would say that the cabins are equal in size, but the M6 balcony is huge (since the hull does not bump out there, just the balconies).. BUT we all know just how accurate the deck plans are lol! I guess only time will tell!

Can you tell I am bored with all my over analyzing and chatting tonight??:p

Anybody know what those clam shell looking things are...and do you have to pay for them...

If you are talking about the regular clamshells, I have seen pics that look like they are both the public Sundeck and Haven Sundeck on deck 17 forward. To get one on the Haven Sundeck, you would have to have a haven suite. The ones on the public Sundeck (along with some hammocks) are up for grabs, I would expect for free. You know they will be loaded with chair hoggers though! :D
