I had a question about Breakaway. I know that breakfast and lunch will be served in at least one of the three dining rooms, the Garden Cafe and the Uptown Cafe. Are there any other locations for these meals? Do any of the specialty restaurants serve breakfast or lunch (either complementary or charged)? Thanks!

The Museum of Natural History is amazing. One of my all time faves. I got tickets to Wicked about a month ahead and they had plenty of seats left. Mind you, I was in the balcony. American Idiot is also great.

 

There is a great Malaysian restaurant called Penang. If you like Thai, you'll love this. Great food for great prices. It's 127 W. 72nd St, between Columbus and Amsterdam.

 

Wicked tix are readily available now. Also, the production shows tour. I know you aren't the poster who said it's not the same as "Broadway", but, Vegas aside, it is. :)

It's a great place to hang out, too. At least on Epic it is. Lots of nice window seats, and plenty to do with air hockey, pool tables, and video games!

On Epic, I believe the Noodle Bar and Wasabi (sushi) were also open for lunch, but both are charged a la carte. I would assume the take-out window of Ocean Blue on the Waterfront is also open for lunch and that is also a la carte pricing.

 

Don't forget that there's also free room service for breakfast and lunch if you choose.

Ok - just found out that the S6 has a FULL 2nd bathroom .... I may have to let our 2 cabins go and spring for this. Does the same rule for balcony size apply to the S6 - meaning deck 12 is the best followed by 11, 10, etc?

No it was not:(. That was the first thing I did when I got to NY, so my feet didn't have time to recover & they hurt almost for the whole week I was there:eek:. But I just pushed through the pain & had a great time there. You must go to china town, I can say that was my favorite part about my trip, oh ya I can't forget the Toys R Us in Times Square:D

Just went to the HSN site, I don't find $100 OBC. It's showing dinner for 2 plus bottle of wine, but its looks like it only available with new bookings

by June 30th. I am already booked for October. Am I in the correct site.

 

Yes you are on the correct site. Request the brochure. Wait a couple of days...say 2-3, then call your PCC/TA and let them know you have a $100 OBC credit in your name waiting to be applied.

The package is worth $100 so NCL gives you a $100 OBC. I booked my cruise in Feb for Oct 2014 and I was able to apply. What it seems like is if you are before final payment date you are able to apply the credit.

I went to NYC about or 9 years ago & I just came out of port authority and I asked police officer how far it was and which direction to ground zero & times square. I was told ground zero was only 2 blocks away & that I would need to take the subway to times square. So I walked the whole way to ground zero thinking that the officer was right and I must have taken a wrong turn. So long story short, I have made it a point to never ask anyone in NYC for directions. Because every time I did I was lied to, Just use a map or GPS.:mad::o:(

 

Maybe the cop lied because he, like all New Yorkers, does not appreciate when tourists threat ground zero like a tourist attraction comparable to times square.

Yes, but it posts at a $100 OBC. You can use it any way you like, expect for the DSC. And it's not just for new bookings. I had it credited to my Getaway cruise, which has been booked since March.

 

We were issued a OBC by NCL at the time of our booking. Do you know if

this credit would affect that credit. I have read stories where OBC's just

disappear from peoples accounts.

That's a little harsh. My husband was one of the ones there on 9-11, and thereafter, with Rescue. Neither he, nor I, would ever think anyone visiting there was treating it as a tourist attraction.

Here is little Breakaway at 14inches long. My wife nailed the hull art. I thought some would enjoy seeing the finished model I mentioned about 100 posts back.

I didn't mean she felt that way. I meant the way she phrased it by repeatedly asking for directions to ground zero and times square was not the best way to ask, especially to a cop.

Its very sad how some people threat the memorial like sitting eating and drinking on the names of the fallen. :mad:

I want to 'ditto" this! This thread...Gambee, Loungerz, and ALL of everyone who have added information, opinions, pictures and wisdom have made my planning and excitement for my July Breakaway cruise so much better...even before I embark!!!! I can't say thank you to everyone enough! :)

I just did the transatlantic, and can confirm that O'Sheehan's is open 24 hrs, with a comp lunch/dinner menu available until about 11pm, then only bar food. They do have some breakfast items on the menu during breakfast hours. Room service breakfast is available. There are hot dog stands and a takeout window for Ocean Blue on the Waterfront. And you can get coffee and sweets at Carlo's. Also comp coffee & pastries in casino in the mornings for the diehards. Wasabi & Shanghai weren't open for lunch on our cruise. Unless you're in the Haven, I think that covers it.
