Ariel was on the Dawn week of August 31.

 

Also, for those Arvin and Emily fans - they were on the Dawn, but Friday they left to go to the Pearl (sailing 9/9). They are going to be on the Pearl through January 2013, then on vacation through May. They are hoping to make the Pearl their new permanent ship (now that the Spirit is in Europe).

 

Thank you for the update jlstilp. But darn it. We'll miss Arvin and Emily by a month. :(

We were fortunate enough to have Arvin and Emily on our Bemuda cruise on the Dawn Aug. 24. They really made our trip. We got to know our fellow fans in the Atrium every night and that made the cruise even better.

We have seen Arile the Piano player the last two summers on the Dawn. He is a great guy, Just saw him in June. Was disapointed we missed Arvin and Emily we loved them on the Spirit two years ago. When we went in June Jose and Patti were on there last week before their vacation. Did not care for them thought they were to into themselves. Also did not like the way they pushed for you to buy stuff throughout the ship. First time in 20yrs saw a singing duo do that . Loved the lucky duo last year they were very personable and friendly .

In early October, a friend of mine will be on the Pearl as an entertainer. I have never known Don to be anywhere but "Bar City". You may have seen home before, his name is Don Alexander. He comes from Louisiana, plays a jazzed up piano and saxophone. He can play piano with his left hand and sax with his right at the same time. He will usually to a salute to Frank Sinatra, Elton John and Billy Joel. He is a really nice guy. He says he will be on The Pearl from the middle of October until sometime in March.

Mary, I absolutely agree with your "don't miss" choices, but I would also add Fire & Ice! We saw them early on in our short Pacific Coastal cruise, but every night their fans (in the Atrium) grew exponentially. The last night the seating in the Atrium was filled and people were standing everywhere else, including up on Deck 8, looking over.

On the Jewel last spring we saw the crew performing " Fountains" . Great! I really laughed out loud. But I guess only when you see it for the first time and don,t know what to expect.
