I've often wondered who or what we're going to have for entertainment when we're on various ships. I thought maybe a rolling thread would be great so we can keep up with our favorites. Feel free to add when you have new information.

Jewel - current as of 8/11/12

Showtime: Band on the Run and LeCique Bijou (don't miss it!)

David Naster, Comedian

Jean-Pierre Parent, Comedy/Magic

Deal or No Deal gameshow

Nickelodeon

Duo Elegia, Russian Acrobats (don't miss them!)

Fire & Ice (Rosie & Mac) - Whitney Houston/Tina Turner tributes

Impac

Alambre Trio

Randon L., guitar medolies

Margie Hobbs, piano/vocals

I'm glad to hear David Nastor is on the Jewel and I hope he is still on when we board 9/1. We sailed with him on the Pearl in 2009, but since then have taken 2 cruises and didn't have a stand up comedian - I really miss that!

I hope others will pitch in and post what entertainment was available on their recent cruises.

Epic- just to add to Meltingmoments excellent summary. The Beatles were in fact excellent. They play on Saturday and Sunday nights (Saturday in H2O not sure about Sunday but we saw them walking through the casino). They all sing and they chat to each other- three of them are welsh.

They are also the band that do the Epic Rocks show and they play loads of brilliant songs- Brian Adams, Rolling Stones, etc.

They love people dancing to them.

Fabba night was also in H20 and this was recorded Abba songs choreographed by the entertainment people. It sounds cheesy but they danced and we sort of copied their actions - it was fantastic fun! Honestly! And hearing the Abba songs was a pleasure anyway.

I wasn't keen on the DJ in H2O who was on after all the shows, as he played club songs that I don't really get - showing my age here, but he seemed popular with the younger end.

Aww thank-you for saying my summary was excellent!:)

I have to agree with you about the DJ in H20.........maybe we're in the same age bracket?? ;)

We left the White Hot Party after an hour because the music was too * techno* for us!! Lol

We were also on the Pearl in '09 and I became friends with Dave - in fact, we still keep in touch! I wonder if you were on the same cruise as us? We sailed around mid-May and I was the Brit sat in the front row exchanging banter with him.

I am not that big on shows/entertainment ...BUT- when on the Jewel in December 2010...there was a FANTASTIC guitar player (he did older soft rock)...I can't remember his name...does anyone have a clue??

Would love to know if he is still with NCL...

It may have been Randon. He was on the Jewel a couple of weeks ago.

Agreed, for the most part....The DJ's they hire apparently come right off of South Beach when in Miami and from major Euro clubs when in Europe so they definetly appeal to a younger crowd. I am 54 so I would say not all my style but the EPIC is so big and there were so many young people...not teens, but 20's 30's that I really had a good time watching them club music it out. Especially those who were a little tipsy.

Was fun anyways.:D

NCL Star 8/19-8/26

Shout! The Mod Musical (60s musical)

Band on the Run (70s musical)

Jorgos the Magician

Shark Bait (Jugglers/comedians)

Elements (variety show on the last night that includes singing, dancing, magic, and acrobats)

The Second City (comedy show and improv shows)

Duo Amaury (acrobats)

Deal or No Deal Game Show

Majority Rules Game Show

Family Friendly Feud

Quest the Game Show (very much a adults only game show)

Presumed Murdered (comedy luncheon... you have to pay extra)

Big Momma's Night of Burlesque (adults only)

Many themed dance parties (South Beach, country western, 50's and 60's rock and roll, 70's disco, toga, Motown)

Karaoke Idol

Various trivia afternoons and evenings

White Hot Dance Party (everyone wears white and dances to club music by the pool)

Also various places to go and listen to live music throughout the ship.

I would strongly recommend Shark Bait, Elements, The Second City, Duo Amaury, and Quest the Game Show. Jorgos the Magician was just OK. Shout! was pretty good, but it was all music and almost no plot. I would also recommend checking out Kenny the Human Jukebox who plays guitar and sings in the Red Lion Pub very often throughout the cruise. Wonderful and he takes requests!

We were on the Pearl in September that year. We saw Dave around the ship several times and he as always willing to stop and chat, share a laugh and a fart! :D

Ariel was on the Dawn week of August 31.

Also, for those Arvin and Emily fans - they were on the Dawn, but Friday they left to go to the Pearl (sailing 9/9). They are going to be on the Pearl through January 2013, then on vacation through May. They are hoping to make the Pearl their new permanent ship (now that the Spirit is in Europe).
