OceanDreaming2 Posted August 25, 2012 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2012 When you have laundry done on a ship, they ID everything with a tag. Sometimes they are next to impossible to remove without damaging the article. What's the secret for safe removal? I'm thinking "heat".
sdmike Posted August 25, 2012 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2012 Never had my clothes tagged on an NCL ship. Just folded in a nice basket
Novastar Posted August 25, 2012 #3 Share Posted August 25, 2012 I agree with SDMike. Never had any laundry tagged or marked in any way. I have been very pleased with the laundry service on NCL.
time2cruise1 Posted August 25, 2012 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2012 I still have some things with NCL laundry tags on them. Never had a problem pealing them off. Anything they could damage is too delicate to send out onboard.
Ilovesailing Posted August 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted August 25, 2012 Never had my clothes tagged on an NCL ship. Just folded in a nice basket Oh you have tags! We send laundry out on every cruise and we have never had an item not tagged. You need to look at the seams, inside bottom of garment. There about 3/3" long by 3/8ths wide and they have your cabin number stamped on the tag I would try heat like the iron start on low and work up but yes they are hard to get off. coka Posted August 25, 2012 #7 Share Posted August 25, 2012 Remove tags iimmediately upon return. The longer they stay...the more difficult to remove. Coka

jdvmd Posted August 26, 2012 #10 Share Posted August 26, 2012 Ours were all tagged on the Dawn at the end of July. You have to pull really hard to get them off. Never had a problem with damaging anything though.
OneStrangeGuy Posted August 26, 2012 #11 Share Posted August 26, 2012 You send your clothes to the shipboard laundry? I take a clean shirt in case I need it, but usually end up taking it home unopened! ;)

If you're thought was correct, there would be many tags lying on the bottom of NCL's clothes dryers...
RiverheadLady Posted August 26, 2012 #13 Share Posted August 26, 2012 I don't have experience with the specific tags mentioned here but for other stickers I use a hair dryer rather than an iron. You can control the heat better and peel as you go without risk to the item.

Bug & Sprouts Posted August 26, 2012 #15 Share Posted August 26, 2012 LOL! Wearing a tank top right now that still has the little yellow tag from the Sun in 2010. I have a few things that have the 2 diff tags on them since on the last laundry day I just threw a couple items in my parents bag, so they have both stateroom stickers on them. Not really keeping them on purpose, I just forget theyre on there til I see them again.
