schreader Posted September 18, 2012 #1 Share Posted September 18, 2012 I'm sailing on the sensation October 7th and the 4 of us girls, girls getaway, we're booked is a grand suite extended balcony. I called 2 months ago to inquire about the price of the owners suite, 450.00 more per person. Today I received a call for an upsell to the owners suite for 350.00 more a person, I took it! Still a little pricey but I have wanted to stay in one. So excited and 20 more days to go!

nybumpkin Posted September 18, 2012 #3 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Yeah, it's pricey. But you will absolutely love it, right from when they escort you aboard the ship when you check in.:D We had an owner's suite on Fantasy last year and DH is still raving about it. pc134 Posted September 18, 2012 #7 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Sure wish my cruise fairy would upgrade my balcony on the 28th of October on the MAGIC. Best friend going with hubby & me,! This is her first cruise. Been trying to get her on s ship for 7 years! This is her 59th birthday @ finally.decided to go! Also, hubby's 69th so, booked a balcony. We, hubby & me have cruised Carnival s dozen times & luv the balcony. We started cruising in 2006. Tried another cruise line but, Carnival is home to us. Friend wanted to go on another line but talked her into Carnival! Hope she cruises many more times with us. I am so ready, this had been s hectic year. NEED A VACATION!!! pc134 Posted September 18, 2012 #9 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Mine, too! Delighted for those that are able to.indulge! We spend as much during the cruise as the actual cost.of cruise. This doesn't.include 600.00 for travel to.port. Pardon my auto correct on.phone; it does what it wants! Marion Cochran aka Tina
NCTribeFan Posted September 18, 2012 #10 Share Posted September 18, 2012 I thought those suites only had a king and a sofa! Would really hate to end up on a cot for a mere $350 more. :p Seems like for that price, you girls could've sailed on a larger, newer ship in a corner aft wrap! I'm sure you'll have a great time, though! It's a king in the bedroom can be split) and a full-size sofabed in the sitting area. Haven't found an aft wrap that sleeps four yet. Two or three, yes; four, no.:(
SoCalKJ Posted September 18, 2012 #13 Share Posted September 18, 2012 ...just to see how much total it would be to get to the next level... We have the "obstructed on this side but not on that side" Verandah suite on the Ecstasy...he said it'd be $370 total more to get to the grand suite. That's a lot just for a few extra square feet and a tub. I'll wait to see if the offer presents itself again...only lower!

Haven't found an aft wrap that sleeps four yet. Two or three, yes; four, no.:( Really? No 4-ppl wraps? Well, that's just silly. But I guess they know they can always sell those to two and force the other two to have their own cabin and just "visit" those wrap-arounds. Or get two adjacent balcony cabins that have partitions that open. Not quite the same, though. Someone else posted somewhere that those kings didn't separate. Didn't realize it was a full-size sofabed, not just the couch-types. You can tell I just don't read too much about those suites because I know I'm never, ever going to be in one. Looking at them just gives me suite envy! :p Be sure to take lots and lots of pics, though! Maybe if I win the lottery some day I'll book one. SouthernIllnoiscruisers Posted September 18, 2012 #16 Share Posted September 18, 2012 Loved the suite! Yes, it's pricey but it's definatly worth it to stay in one of them at least once. One suggestion would be is to bring ear plugs, they clean and move things around above you VERY early every morning. That was my only complaint with this room. Have a great cruise! NCTribeFan Posted September 18, 2012 #18 Share Posted September 18, 2012 According to the deck plans, the jogging track. There may also be lounge chairs. Pretty sure that the area right along the edge is just open deck space. Believe I've laid out in the sun up there many years ago.

I guess we didn't have as many fitness fans on our cruise.:p Good thing our oldest son wasn't with us - he's a runner, and he probably would have been out there all the time.
