Shopping pre-cruise

Great info and tips. I always place permanent labels on all of our chargers AND CORDS that give our name, phone number and what they attach to. It saves a lot of sorting when trying to find which cord goes with which accessory, etc. We take 3 cameras and each has its own charger.

Another great hint is to take a photo of your luggage (to go with your photo of the luggage tag) at the beginning of a trip. We've found it comes in handy when the luggage goes astray and you have to start describing it in detail and choosing options from the airline's little drawings.

We also use colorful straps (the kind that are adjustable and look like colorful seat belts) around each piece of luggage. We've been lucky but we've seen too many come off airport carousels that something heavy landed on (or they were dropped or tossed too far) and they had popped open - very sad sight. It also makes it faster to spot our luggage.

I also take a list of serial numbers for the laptop, cameras, etc.

Do what you can ahead and then relax and have fun.
