Rare NorbertsNiece Posted September 21, 2012 #2 Share Posted September 21, 2012 Your cruise line will likely be offering post cruise excursions with airport drop off. Barrachina's will store your luggage for you with no charge. Click on the free services link.

johnbob7 Posted September 24, 2012 #4 Share Posted September 24, 2012 That is excellent, do you know what is around Barrachina's and how far from the port? Barrachina's is in the middle of Old San Juan, so you can walk to everything in OSJ from there. How far from port depends on which pier your cruise sails into: Pan American Pier is across harbor and so is a 10 minute cab ride (not walkable). The OSJ piers are just a few blocks away, but mostly uphill so a pain for dragging luggage. bobj
MDSue Posted September 25, 2012 #5 Share Posted September 25, 2012 San Juan is not much of a beach destination and is much better for just walking around and seeing a pretty, historic city with lots of shops, and neat forts. If you've never been to Old San Juan before, I highly recommend you just spend the day taking in the city. If you prefer the beach, you could easily grab a cab to either Condado or Isla Verde to spend a few hours at the beach. Isla Verde is about a $19 cab ride that should take 15-20 minutes. Their beaches are nicer than Condado, but Condado is closer. The beaches can be to wavy to swim at times, but Condado has a nice cove beach which is very close to OSJ. It is right as you cross the bridge from OSJ to Condado Here is a picture of the protected beach area in Condado. It is located directly in front of the Conrad Condado Hotel.
